All we envision as light: Stunning Voyage from Cannes to Golden Globe Nominations

Payal Kapadia all we imagine as light continues to gather accolades with its list of achievements growing steadily. The film has now secured two nominations at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards one for Best Motion Picture Non-English Language and another for Best Direction Motion Picture.

In the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture category all we imagine as light will compete with Emilia Perez (France), The Girl With the Needle (Poland), I’m Still Here (Brazil), The Seed of the Sacred Fig (US) and Vermiglio (Italy). Meanwhile, in the Best Director category Payal Kapadia is nominated alongside Brady Corbet (The Brutalist), Coralie Fargeat (The Substance), Edward Berger (Conclave), Jacques Audiard (Emilia Perez) and Sean Baker (Anora).

Ahead of the 82nd Golden Globe Awards set to take place on January 6 let us look at the remarkable journey of all we imagine as light:

1. The film made history as the first Indian feature in 30 years to qualify for the Cannes Film Festival prestigious competition section. At its screening the audience gave the film an eight minutes standing ovation. It won the Grand Prix Award the second-highest honor at Cannes.
2. all we imagine as light was part of the CineMasters Competition at the 2024 Munich International Film Festival Germany second-largest film gala after the Berlin Film Festival.
3. At the San Sebastian International Film Festival in September the film was honored with the RTVE another look Award.
4. The movie won the Silver Hugo Jury Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival in October.
5. It also took home the Fiction Feature Prize at the Montclair Film Festival the same month.
6. In November at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards the film received six nominations and won the Jury Grand Prize.
7. In December all we imagine as light won Best International Feature at the Gotham Awards.
8. The film also claimed the Best International Film award at the New York Film Critics Circle in December.
9. Most recently the San Diego Film Critics Society recognized the film as Best Foreign Language Film.
10. Additionally the movie earned nominations for Best International Independent Film at the British Independent Film Awards and Best International Feature at the Astra Film Awards.

All we imagine as light tells the story of Prabha nurse whose life changes when she receives an unexpected gift from her long-estranged husband. Meanwhile her roommate Anu navigates the challenge of finding privacy in a bustling city to spend time with her boyfriend. The Malayalam Hindi feature stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon.
