New Delhi: Thousands of drones soared over Andhra Pradesh forming intricate designs such as the national flag, Lord Buddha, an airplane and a drone. This massive drone display the largest of its kind was part of the Amaravati Drone Summit 2024 held at Punnami Ghat on the banks of the River Krishna on Tuesday.
Five viewing areas were arranged for the thousands of spectators who gathered along the riverbank to watch the drone display and laser show.
The event set five Guinness World Records in the categories of Largest Planet Formation, Largest Landmark Creation, Largest Plane Formation, Largest Flag Display and Aerial Logo Display.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu joined the people of Amaravati to witness the drone show. He congratulated the organizers and participants stating This evening marks the beginning of the drone era in Andhra Pradesh with the future hovering right above us and it looking bright!

At the Amaravati Drone Summit 2024 Naidu addressed drone manufacturers and enthusiasts sharing his vision for advancing drone technology in the state. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) he wrote to support the growth of the drone industry I have allocated 300 acres of land at Orvakallu in Kurnool District. We plan to train 35,000 drone pilots and scale up cost effective indigenously developed drone applications. Within 15 days the Andhra Pradesh government will introduce a new policy to create a supportive environment for drones and emerging technologies in collaboration with all stakeholders.
Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the importance of utilizing drones for the greater good referencing their effective use during the Vijayawada flood relief operations.
