New Delhi: Lawrence Bishnoi the name of the notorious gangster has been widely reported in the media since the murder of senior Maharashtra leader Baba Siddique. In a Facebook post one of the accused claimed the killing was carried out by the Bishnoi gang which has been linked to several high profile murders and extortion cases.

The blackbuck poaching case involving Bollywood star Salman Khan occurred in 1998 during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan angering the Bishnoi community which holds the animal in high regard.
Two decades later Lawrence Bishnoi now Age-31 publicly expressed his deep resentment toward Salman Khan. During a 2018 court appearance in Jodhpur Bishnoi stated We will kill Salman Khan. Everyone will know once we take action.
Since then the actor has received multiple death threats with the situation escalating in April this year when gunshots were fired outside his Bandra home by two shooters reportedly linked to the Bishnoi gang who were later arrested.
Bishnoi alleged connection to the murder of Baba Siddique 66 surfaced when a Facebook post claimed Jo Salman Khan aur Dawood gang ki help Karega Apna hisab-kitab laga ke rakhna (whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, be ready to settle your accounts). The post was made by an individual identified as Shubuu Lonkar who authorities believe is Bishnoi gang aide Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar.
Baba Siddique known for his close ties to Salman Khan was killed on October 12 by three shooters.
According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Lawrence Bishnoi now leads a 700 members gang spread across the country including sharpshooters. His network is supported by other notorious gangsters such as Goldy Brar, Sachin Thapan, Anmol Bishnoi, Vikramjit Singh, Kala Jatheri and Kala Rana.
The 31 years old law graduate jailed since 2015 is believed to run a transnational crime syndicate. The NIA has reported that he operates his network from prisons in various states and through associates in countries like Canada. These associates are also said to have links with pro Khalistani elements in neighboring Nepal and other regions.
Bishnoi name has been connected to several high profile cases including the Year-2022 murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
