It will essentially do anything you want. It can be a teacher, babysit your kids, walk your dog, mow your lawn, fetch groceries, be a companion and even serve drinks. Whatever you can imagine it will do and it’s going to be incredible said Tesla CEO Elon Musk while unveiling the latest launch.
In a demo video shown at the event, Optimus was seen performing tasks such as picking up packages, watering plants, cleaning kitchen counters, unloading groceries and playing with children.
Proving his point Musk brought several Optimus robots to the event and asked attendees to be kind to them. You can walk right up to them and they’ll serve drinks at the bar. It’s a surreal experience to see humanoid robots right in front of you.
Musk mentioned that Optimus would eventually cost between $20,000 to $30,000.
